Official Permanent Residency Application Begins!

I finally received my most awaited email on this PR journey. On February 20, 2019, 2 weeks after I received my NBPNP nomination, I was having my lunch at my work desk when I received an email notification from my favorite sender, donotreply@cic.gc.ca, stating that I have new message in my account! My heart was pumping so hard while reading it. I immediately logged in to my CIC account and confirmed that I finally got the Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residency! I am given 60 days to either accept or decline this invitation. And of course, just like my NB PNP nomination, I accepted it in a heartbeat! Note that you have to take action, either to accept or decline the invitation. If you don't do anything, your Express Entry profile will no longer be valid and you have to create another one again. This is the instructions when you accept the invitation:

It's pretty straight forward. You just have to answer the additional questions in order to complete the form. You should have all the birth date details of your direct family members ready as this is required in the form. I spent almost 2 hours filling up the forms. I had a hard time filling up the travel history since I had several trips and the form required specific dates of your travel. I had a copy of this form when I submitted my Student Visa application. But in that form the required detail was only month and year. For this one, they required the day of travel as well. Most of these details can be found in our travel stamps. But I had travels in Europe where the stamp is only at the country of your point of entry. I did cross country so I had to dig my Facebook pictures for date stamps. lol. Anyway, after you completed answering the questions/forms, a checklist will be generate based on your answers. For me, based on my background, this is the list of my requirements for PR application:

This checklist will be generated once you completed the online form/questions

Police certificate - Philippines refers to NBI. I had renewed my NBI online after I received my NB PNP nomination. Tip: You can renew your NBI clearance online if you have an old NBI clearance. This is applicable only on 2014-2018 NBI Clearances. Just go to this official Philippine NBI website and fill up required details. You would need to enter your old NBI ID number. Have this delivered to your family or friends' address in the Philippines and ask them to email you the scanned copy once they receive it. You only need scanned copy for PR application. Fee for NBI renewal online is Php355 Philippine Pesos. It was delivered to my parents' address in Cebu 3 days after payment. Payment was done at SM center. There are more payment center options on NBI site once you reach the payment page but there was no credit card payment option.

I already have all my documents ready and scanned. The only pending requirement for me is the upfront medical exam and updated bank statements. Upfront medical exam cannot be done just in any clinics. This should be done only by those approved panel physicians. This list can be found in CIC website.

There is only one doctor in Moncton who can perform immigration medical exam. Unfortunately, when I Google to check on the office hours, I found several negative reviews about this doctor. I didn't want to have any trouble with my PR application so I decided to travel two hours to Fredericton to do my medical exam there instead. The earliest date available for me to have my medical exam is 2 weeks from my ITA. This is not bad. It means in 2 weeks, I will be able to submit my full PR application already! This is it, the official Permanent Residency Application Begins!

This was the round of invitation that I was part of.
